Consistent Change

I don’t know about you, but I love change. I think change is good for us. Change adds a spice to life that routine can’t. It keeps my mind moving which I think is one of the most important things a mind can do.  I found myself getting stuck in a routine in high school and just falling into so much apathy because of it. Everything was planned out for me and I didn’t have any time to do anything different; to go on any adventures, to create, to have fun, to just generally be myself. So my mind stopped moving. I gave up on school, I gave up on friendships, I gave up on God, I gave up on learning. Not like scholastic learning but learning things about life, philosophy, psychology, theology, art, and love. Everything that interests me I kind of gave up on because my mind stopped moving.

That’s why I think consistent change is a necessity. It throws us out of our comfort zone. It forces us to think, react, survive. It keeps us sharp, keen, and aware of life and our surroundings. We can’t fall into the drudgery of routine because we will lose the adventure in life. And as one of my favorite authors, Aesop, used to say,

Adventure is worthwhile. -Aesop.
